Believe Counseling Services Philosophy

A place where confidence and personal truth come together

Tessa Bio Pic.jpg

The name of my practice is meant to support that each of us has the strength to overcome, survive, and thrive. More importantly, we have the ability to recover from shaping events that have influenced our lives in undesirable ways and to develop and strengthen the skills we need to implement the growth we desire. The life we want is within our power. We have the strength. This is our truth. Believe.

The populations I have been privileged to work with are adults of all ages, genders, orientations, and backgrounds, and adolescents (starting at age 12). My experience with children younger than 12 years of age is extremely limited.

Practice focus areas include substance use and addiction-related issues to encompass addressing anger, traumatic and/or shaping events, realigning emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, and personal healing. I also have extensive experience in addressing relationships and sexuality in the binary, non-binary, power exchange, and polyamory dynamics. I offer individual and group sessions.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling (MAPC), and another Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling (MACC). I am a member of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom and am listed in the Kink Aware Professionals Directory (KAP). I am also a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).

Thank you for looking through the website. If my ideas and philosophy speak to you, please call the office at (480) 462-7686 to begin or resume your journey.

The life you want is within your power. Believe in your truth.
